Death: A Self-Portrait at the Wellcome Collection

In Exhibitions, Temporary Exhibitions on November 19, 2012 at 12:51 pm

As anyone who has read my previous reviews of Wellcome Collection exhibitions knows, I’m a big fan. I love Henry Wellcome. I love his collection. I love the history of medicine. So when the Wellcome opened an exhibition entitled Death, I was quite exited.

Ballgowns and the Fashion Galleries @ the V&A

In Exhibitions on September 8, 2012 at 1:25 pm

I have been taking advantage of new position as an employee on Exhibition Road (but not for long – snivel) and have been paying visits to our lovely neighbours. This time, I took a turn around the V & A, visiting their new Fashion Galleries and Ballgowns: British Glamour since 1950 exhibition.

Courtesy of the Guardian. As usual at the V&A, Ballgowns is a "No Photography" exhibition.

In Exhibitions on February 4, 2012 at 3:10 pm

This weekend, I visited two exhibitions at the British Museum. If you know me, you’ll know that’s very out of character – the BM is not usually my thing. This is even more so when it comes to art exhibitions – if I visit the Tate Modern I’ll blow through the whole building in 30 minutes, giftshop included. But I’d heard great things about Grayson Perry’s exhibition (consistently selling out weeks in advance), and I thought I’d give it a go.

Wellcome Collection

In Exhibitions, Museums on November 26, 2011 at 10:00 am

The Wellcome Collection is the foremost medical museum in Britain, nay, the WORLD as far as I’m concerned, and so it has a lot to live up to.
